GAURI'S BLOG : HOW ARE AURORAS FORMED?
How are northern lights formed? It was the 14 th of January 2022, the night every person present in Stockholm actually in the whole of northern Europe would remember. Bright dazzling green light shining up in the sky, like the beautiful sparkle in the dark sky, yes it was auroras. It was among the strongest auroras witnessed. We could even see dancing red auroras in the sky. It is a rare phenomenon that occurs once or twice a year. But how are the auroras formed? They are the result of the disturbance of the earth's magnetic field. Well! To Make it interesting look at the image below: When the sun gives out strong and hot solar flames(winds) they are so large that they reach earth and even move beyond it. These can cause severe harm to the people living on the earth, but there is a shield that protects us from these solar winds. This shield is nothing but our earth's magnetic field.
