What is the sound of black hole?

DOES A BLACK HOLE HAVE SOUND?

RECENTLY IN AUGUST 2022, NASA DISCOVERED THE SOUND OF A BLACK HOLE. YES, YOU HEARD IT RIGHT.

BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT SPACE IS A VACUUM, THEN HOW COULD SOUND TRAVEL THROUGH IT? WHERE THERE IS NO MEDIUM, THERE’S NO SOUND!

BUT THE GALAXIES WHICH HAS LOTS OF STUFF HAPPENING INSIDE THEM LIKE FORMING OF STARS, THE DYING OF STARS, AND THE CLASHING OF TWO STARS. THESE HUGE EVENTS DO PRODUCE PRESSURE WAVES IN THE SPACE.

THE BLACK HOLE AT THE CENTRE OF THE 'PERSEUS GALAXY 'CLUSTER HAS GIVEN US THE FIRST SOUND OF ANY BLACK HOLE UNTIL NOW.

THE OFFICIAL LINK TO THE SOUND IS ATTACHED BELOW AT THE END OF THE BLOG.

WITH THIS PRESSURE WHEN CONVERTED INTO AUDIBLE SOUND WAVES, WE CAN HEAR THE SOUND IN THE SPACE. WELL, THIS WORK IS DONE BY NASA. THIS PROCESS IS CALLED 'SONIFICATION'. IT IS JUST LIKE TRANSLATING THE SOUND.

THE DATA FROMCHANDRA X-ray   OBSERVATORY IS MERGED AND WITH LOTS OF COMPUTER WORK INVOLVED INTO IT, WE GET A SOUND OF BLACK HOLE.

WITHOUT GOING INTO VERY DEEP INTO PHYSICS, I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU THAT, THE ORIGINAL SOUND WE GET IS SO SMALL THAT HUMAN EARS ARE NOT CAPABLE ENOUGH TO HEAR THAT SOUND, HENCE SCIENTIST HAS TO INCREASE THEIR OCTAVE TO 58 OCTAVE ABOVE THEIR ACTUAL PITCH. THIS IS WHY WE CAN HEAR THIS SOUND COMING FROM THOUSAND OF LIGHT YEARS AWAY FROM US.

IN CONCLUSION, IT IS SCARY HOW WE KEEP DISCOVERING SHOCKING THINGS EVERY DAY, BUT THE NASA ITSELF SAYS THAT THIS ISNT THE ACTUAL SOUND BUT THE NASA’S SONIFICATION PROJECT, TRANSLATES  ASTRONOMICAL DATA INTO SOUND. WHICH HELPS SCIENTISTS TO STUDY ABOUT OUR FUTURE MISSIONS.

WELL NOW  LET YOUR EARS HEAR THE SOUND FROM A BLACK HOLE THAT YOU CAN NOT EVEN SEE WITH YOUR NAKED EYES.
